The end of the summer has me feeling a little restless. Maybe because I recently turned another year older or maybe because my little one is about to start school for the first time (still hard to believe that one!!), but I’ve been reminiscing more than usual lately. Nostalgia and thoughts of the past emerge at the most inopportune times and take me along for a ride. I catch myself daydreaming while sitting at my desk, trying to formulate a plan of action and thought-out posts for the blog. The other day I stopped fighting it, pulled out an old photo album and went down memory lane. So, in the spirit of reminiscing, today I’d like to talk to you about a brand I first discovered when I was pregnant with my son a few years back. I was searching for more natural yet high-performing makeup and the Sephora personnel suggested Buxom Cosmetics. I went home, did my own research, watched some YouTube tutorials and placed my first Buxom order.

Buxom Big Tease Plumping Mascara
Buxom brings its signature big, bold, plumping power to lashes with the launch of the Big Tease Mascara. It is a volumzing, lash plumper that features a unique tapered, conical-shaped brush with chisel-tipped bristles that grab and coat each lash from root to tip. The innovative design of the wand gives you the thickening of a brush with the definition of a comb. The triangle cut is easy to use, reaches every corner of the lashes and delivers just the right amount of product. I’ve been using this mascara daily for over two weeks now. It has a creamy-velvet formula with a blend of 3 high performance waxes that work together to create a buildable, long-wearing and intensely glossy finish! They attach to your own lashes to instantly magnify and multiply the look! The result is voluminous and noticeably longer lashes.
My eyelashes are thin and stumpy, so for me, the result is not overly dramatic or intense. I do love the way this mascara coats my lashes and helps open up my eyes for a more polished look. It doesn’t smudge and it removes easily without tugging at my eyes.
Who doesn’t love a multi-tasking product that can cut back those ever-growing beauty routines? Well this is a 3-in-one! It’s a balm, a sheer tint and a tingling pout plumper all in one chubby, chunky and adorable stick! It can be worn alone or layered under the lipstick of your choice to maximize the pout and keep the lips hydrated. The formula is lightweight and loaded with a lip soothing pumpkin seed oil complex that keeps the lips smooth and soft. A boosting peptide blend adds volume to the lips for a cooling, tingling sensation that lingers to create a plumped effect. There is only one shade available, but that’s really all you need. It is a universally flattering color that reacts to the individual pH of your lips to transform into the most whimsical, dreamy pink.
In my experience, the lip balm is ultra-comfortable to wear, melts beautifully onto the lips and provides a slight plumping effect. It feels refreshing and has a minty, tingling effect. The Buxom PowerPlump Balm is a great alternative to plumping lip glosses, if you want something delicate, non-sticky yet still plumping. I’ve worn this on its own for a subtle pop of sheer, but I typically like to pair it up with some of my favorite BITE Beauty (another safe and sexy beauty brand) lip liners for a custom shade that never looks the same!
Here is a soft makeup look I wore to the gym the other day featuring Buxom Big Tease Plumping Mascara and Buxom PowerPlump Lip Balm. I don’t typically like to wear a full face of makeup when I work out, but a little mascara and a dab of lip balm can instantly make me feel more put together and ready to hit the gym.

I always forget about buxom XD To be honest, it kind of blends in with other brands like too faced and benefit. But it sounds like you found two winners from them! I’ve never tried a mascara with a glossy finish before! I think I have a sample of it in my stash so I’ll need to try it out soon 🙂

Agreed, they’re similar to Too Faced in terms of a more natural formula, but I have to say the Buxom lip glosses are probably some of the best I’ve ever tried in terms of formula and shade range.
